This can happen over time. The adapter in the cigarette lighter can become loose due to the vibrations when driving. Simply unplug it once and plug it back in again. Also disconnect and reconnect the USB connection at the same time.

I think the length is about 2 m, which is certainly not enough from the rear window. If you have a 12 volt socket in the rear it might work. The antenna needs power and the microphone cable, both are about 2 m long. Does the microphone have an ordinary AUX cable that I can extend with an extension cable? yes.

Is this a good device ?

Hello Samsi I have had the unit installed for about 9 months, daily use, no worries with it. Works all flawless, almost suspiciously so.... Need it via AUX-In in the car, so I can't comment on Bluetooth connectivity and/or hands-free. (This runs directly through the vehicle's own radio). Wireless operation can be mounted anywhere, runs on an AA battery, this lasts even longer than stated in the description, still have the first battery in (9 months). This is certainly also dependent on the operation, as I listen to the same DAB station most of the time, it naturally requires fewer operations, correspondingly less battery. All in all, after 3/4 year: recommendable, would install this one again... Greetings and good luck with your selection....

Hello Till, That sounds familiar - it also happened to us with a related device, the Pure Highway 600 (Pure is also the original manufacturer of the Alpine device). Compared to other installations, we seldom had a complete search, the reception on the road always failed. After a few months of testing, I returned the device to Digitec and, after a lengthy back-and-forth, the importer replaced it "as a gesture of goodwill". Pure's support took weeks to reply (long before Corona), but at least they suggested a replacement straight away. Since then, the reception is absolutely perfect - with the same antenna at the same installation location. Since your device is new, I would initiate a DoA (Dead on Arrival) exchange at Digitec. In the meantime, you can still update the firmware of the receiver (-> https://www.alpine.ch/support/software-und-kartenupdate/ezi-dab-go-ezi-dab-bt-firmware-update.html ), but this requires a Windows computer. I don't think this will make much difference. Greetings, -Kurt

First of all: The hands-free phone is absolutely top-notch! Many newer cars (without start-stop) briefly interrupt the power supply at the socket when the engine is started, which leads to a restart of the device, until the Bluetooth connection is re-established it takes some time, but this is not a fault of the product. If necessary, talk to your garage or the car electrician - it is much nicer anyway when the cable is not hanging around openly - rough drivers or passengers do not interrupt music or telephone conversations any more. As it was said in the previous answer, access to the phone book by browsing, but also the call history (outgoing, incoming, missed calls) is possible. Both here and on the DAB side: if the lists are long, you spend some time turning. For DAB, you can put favourite stations in a memory list. For telephoning and some other information, it is advisable to connect via the Pure Go app - then Apple's Siri, Google Assistant or other manufacturer-specific assistants can be addressed directly at the touch of a button. Perhaps another important point: the device is much more fun when the audio connection is connected to the existing radio via an AUX connection. Where none is available - many audio systems have connections for CD changers which are not used. There are nice little interfaces with which you can also make a direct audio connection - but this must fit your car or radio. Here, too, the nice car electrician or the garage will help if you are not a hardcore car enthusiast.

Hi, I don't know exactly how long the cable is but I have installed this system on a 2008 BMW 1 series. I ran the cable behind the glove box and under the centre console. I'm not sure how long the cable is, but I've installed it behind the glove box and under the centre console.

Works fine for us, both on the Alpine EZi-DAB-BT and the Pure Highway 600. From the instructions: --- Using presets You can store up to 20 of your favourite digital stations in the preset list for easy access. Assigning memory locations 1. when listening to a digital radio station, press and hold the <3 [Heart] button on the front of the wireless controller. 2. Turn the Select knob until the preset number where you want to store your favourite station is displayed. 3. Press and hold the button or press and hold the Select knob to store the current station in that memory location. Previous memory locations can be overwritten in the process. The screen displays "SP GESP." (memory location saved) appears on the screen when the setting has been saved. Selecting memory locations Press and hold the <3 [Heart] button. 2. 2. turn the Select knob to scroll through the memory location list and press the Select knob to select one of the preset stations, or press one of the |< or >¦ buttons to move to the previous or next memory location. --- If necessary, update the software (unfortunately, this requires a Windows system, download via https://www.alpine.ch/support/software-und-kartenupdate/ezi-dab-go-ezi-dab-bt-firmware-update.html), or also a RESET via the menu or, if necessary, the reset button.

I have already bought two of these devices and am thrilled by the clarity of the sound. I have no problems with the connections to the antenna on either device. If I am not satisfied, I would exchange the device for a replacement. The best way to connect to the car radio is via the headphone plug and not via the antenna.

I don't understand. What exactly is the question? Have you installed the product correctly, including the antenna? Your statement makes no sense. After all, this is a DAB receiver, so why are you listening to FM? That has nothing to do with the microphone input. Your car radio needs an AUX input if you want to connect the receiver to the sound system of your Mini. Instructions (German from page 31): https://static.digitecgalaxus.ch/Files/7/4/8/2/8/0/9/OM_EZi-DAB-BT_DE.pdf

Hello. I meant it's 2.5mm. Can't you measure the plug of the microphone with a ruler?🤔😅 Watch out though. The plug collar must be quite thin (definitely not thicker than the original) so that it can be plugged into the antenna at all. PS. In my case, the plug was not all the way in because they jam. Then the microphone doesn't work. It took me a moment to find the error... I hope I could help a little. Happy holidays, have a good time Antec

> DAB+ reception: I can only see the station name and the second line is empty. Yes, this is (unfortunately!) normal. It is a pity that Pure (the OEM manufacturer) has not implemented this function in their "own" Highway 600 - or that the firmware of the integrated controller chip does not allow it.

This is practically impossible for manufacturer-independent systems - because that would require close integration with the existing radio and the bus system (for the control, possibly even the display) that is almost certainly installed. Car manufacturers are already finding it difficult to offer an upgrade with a fully integrated DAB receiver. In most cases, a DAB preparation (additional antenna, connector on the wiring harness and the bus) is required.

Hello Works tiptop, on the whole you don't notice any difference. I have installed the part in two cars. One without MiniJack and the other with. The only mango about the device is that it has no reception in tunnels, otherwise I am very satisfied.

Which batteries do you use? I use the white Ikea Laddas or Panasonic Eneloop batteries and with them I get 6-12 months depending on how much I press on them. If you use normal Ni-MH batteries, it is normal that they only last a short time, as they have a high self-discharge rate.
