Product insurance

All it takes is a stroke of bad luck for your smartphone to slip out of your hand, to spill a glass of water on your laptop or for your cat to start working away at your sofa. These cases aren’t covered by the manufacturer warranty or our warranty extensions, nor by standard household contents insurance. That’s why we offer additional product insurance.

Insurance product from Helvetia (Helvetic Warranty GmbH)

  • Electronic devices: the insurance covers damage to or the destruction of the insured item resulting from a sudden or unforeseeable external influence. This includes moisture or liquid (excluding floods and inundations) as well as force (e.g. falls), sand damage, short circuit or overvoltage, which impairs the function of the insured item.

    Furniture: the insurance covers damage (e.g. cracks, scratches, scuffs, chips, dents, broken glass, etc.) or the destruction of the insured item as a result of a sudden or unforeseeable external influence. It also covers damage or destruction caused by pets and sudden and unforeseeable staining and soiling by:
    food or drinks
    nail varnish
    greases or oils (box spring beds not covered)
    bleaching agents, acids, caustic or corrosive solutions and substances
    adhesives or superglues
    ink or paint
    human or animal body fluids (box spring bed not covered)
    water, liquid or heat influences
    burns
  • How to report a claim to Helvetic Warranty:
    a 24/7 claim reporting service is at your disposal for your device or furniture insured with Helvetic Warranty: www.helvetic-warranty.ch or +41 44 563 62 13 (Monday to Friday / 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.). The contact details are also available on your claim and policy.

Insurance product of AXA (bolttech Switzerland AG)

  • The insurance offers worldwide, all-round protection in the event of damage due to a drop or impact, display breakage, as well as in the case of water and moisture damage. For mobile phones and tablets, the insurance also covers costs arising from misuse of the SIM card in the case of theft.
  • How to report a claim to bolttech:
    if your device covered by AXA insurance (via the insurance intermediary bolttech Switzerland AG) has been damaged,  please report it via the claims portal.

  • With AppleCare+ your Apple product’s protected against an unlimited number of accidental damages. You can make warranty claims directly with Apple even after the one-year Apple warranty. You also get priority support from Apple online and in all Apple Stores worldwide throughout the entire AppleCare+ insurance term.

  • Register with AppleCare+:
    If your product qualifies for AppleCare+, simply add AppleCare+ before purchasing. We’ll register your product with AppleCare+ for you by forwarding your product’s serial number and/or IMEI to Apple. You’ll receive all further documents from Apple. Should there be any issues, you’ll automatically receive an e-mail with the next steps. You also always have the option to purchase AppleCare+ straight from Apple  for up to 60 days after receiving your product. Once we’ve shipped your Apple product, you can no longer add AppleCare+ through us.

  • Registering a claim
    This is where you can check your AppleCare+ coverage at any time and report a claim.
    On-site registration at all Apple Stores worldwide or at an Apple-authorised service provider.
