Sonos Beam

simply put: the beam does not have an extra subwoofer and is intended more for small rooms, the playbar needs an external subwoofer and is designed for larger rooms. look here: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/page/sonos-beam-im-test-grosser-sound-fuer-kleine-raeume-8316
Have no Move
The Sonos Beam connects directly to the home network via WLAN (2.4 Ghz) or alternatively via Ethernet. No other Sonos devices are required to use the Beam. It is then played via the Sonos App or directly from an Apple device via AirPlay 2. The connection of a TV set (the Beam is primarily designed as an upgrade for the sound of a TV) is done via HDMI ARC or, if the corresponding TV set does not yet have a suitable connection, also via an enclosed adapter with TOSLINK.
The Beam can be connected to any other Sonos and to a beamer, I have no idea. Greetings
Hi - I don't use assistants - however an HDMI - Optic adapter is included. You should be able to add Google and Amazon Assistants - via Sonos App (I use iOS).
The Cablecom remote control must first be paired with the TV. https://www.upc.ch/de/support/fernsehen/tv-box/fehlerbehebung/fernbedienung/fernbedienung-koppeln/
It's hard to say, because the Sonos Arc has just come onto the market and is the successor to the Sonos Playbar. When comparing the two speakers, you can see that the Arc supports Dolby 5.1. The Sonos Arc has 8 woofers, Beam only 4, so you have a richer bass sound. I myself own the Sonos Beam, combined with 2 Sonos One Gen 2. and have built a surround sound system. I have to say, the movies have a new level now. A real cinema feeling. I am really satisfied. I would only recommend the Arc in a large room. The volume of all combined is not suitable for a flat. Basically, you have to know what you prefer and what you want or can fit in your TV/room. The Arc is longer, has a better sound but is also more expensive. I would recommend you compare the two speakers on the Sonos homepage, or watch some Youtoube videos comparing the two. Hope you find the right speaker for your budget.
I don't see one and there's nothing in the description either. But there are cheaper products for that. This device is designed more for wireless or as a soundbar for the TV. It only has one HDMI and one Ethernet connection. You can find more details here: https://www.sonos.com/support/de-de/sonos-user-guide/index.html#t=sonos-user-guide%2Fbeam%2Fbeam.htm
runs perfectly with google assistant ... that's exactly how I'm currently running it. it can simply do both, alexa and google home.
The additional SONOS one would actually be intended for a 5.1 system. You can use them to configure the rear left and rear right. But if they are positioned to the right and left of the TV, it doesn't make much sense. I would just mount the Beam on the TV in the kitchen. I think in the kitchen this should be completely sufficient from a sound point of view.
Yes, the SONOS system can be controlled via the Sonos app. I don't know of an upper limit, but I have seen systems with up to 20 speakers/subwoofers that worked without problems.
Yes, the TV remote control controls the volume of the Sonos via HDMI ARC. The app is only necessary once at the beginning, to set it up.
Hello Steven The Sonos Beam is usually connected to the TV via HDMI ARC. If the TV does not have an HDMI ARC output, you can also connect the SONOS Beam via the optical audio output on the TV. Ideally, you need two HDMI connections on your TV, at least one of which has ARC (this is usually written directly on the port), or an HDMI input and an optical output. Greetings, Christoph
I think so. I have TV via the INternet including Netflix. The sound then goes from the TV to the Sonos via the HDMI ARC connection. I haven't tried BD player yet, but I don't see why it shouldn't work the same way. The configuration of the Sonos has to be done via an app on your mobile phone. Especially the automatic switching on of the Sonos, deep in the menu Settings/Settings Room/TV.
Samsung TV has an HDMI ARC connection, have you already tried it with that? Have you already connected the Beam to a controller using the IPHONE etc. app? I would need more information to help...
Not at present
Good day Yes, the Sonos Beam can be used without any additional devices. To set it up once, you need a mobile phone and Wi-Fi. After that, you can press the button directly on the speaker and the last set music (e.g. radio etc.) will play again via Wi-Fi. Or you can select the desired music on the mobile phone, but then you can leave the house and take the mobile phone with you without interrupting the music. I hope I was able to help. Greetings Hansruedi
You can only give Alexa commands via the Sonos Beam if it is connected to the HDMI Arc input. This only works directly with the Beam, it won't work via an Echodot (as the HDMI Arc connection is required). Example commands: "Alexa, turn on the TV". "Alexa, turn off the TV" "Alexa, turn up the volume" "Alexa, switch to mute" Here you would find even more information; https://www.sonos.com/de-ch/shop/beam.html
