Hello, I can confirm that the EX8000 works in principle with the Swisscom box. I would assume that it also works with the Sunrise Box. But beware, the repeater function too often brings very annoying disconnections that put the pleasure on hold. I have switched it off, as there are no stable connections and no functioning changes from original WIFI to repeater WIFI. I hope that Netscape will finally deliver a working firmware, otherwise I'll throw the thing far away.

Yes, when used as a repeater, it creates a new WLAN environment. However, there is the option that the "new" WLAN can be realised under the same network name. I can't say exactly how it looks then, because I would like to know whether I am working on the Extended-NW or not. The repeater does not have to be connected to the main router via RJ45 to be able to perform its function properly.

Sure, it has 4 lan ports. Respectively 3 if you use the device in Access Point mode and not as a Wifi Extender.

In principle, one box that is connected to the router is sufficient. With only one device, however, a normal extender will also do. A mesh system only makes sense with several devices. With the right setup and configuration, the WLAN signal is then actually distributed seamlessly and imperceptibly throughout the house. And it's really super fast.

Absolutely. Of course, since the maximum possible speed of the RAX200 is lower with this unit, it is reduced accordingly. But otherwise it works perfectly and stably. However, it does not support WPA3, 160MHz or ax, so you have to make do with ac, WPA2 and 80MHz. Tip: It is advantageous to set up the extender in such a way that the end device (laptop/PC) can be connected to it via Ethernet. This results in a higher speed and somewhat better latency times. Of course, this option is not available for smartphones and tablets.

Hello, the Netgear AC3000-model ex8000-x6s Nighthawk Repeater works in tri-band 1733/866/400. This is the reason why on the Netgear website it says (up to 3 Gbit/s) 1733+866+400=2999 rounded up to 3 Gbit/s. Thank you!

According to Netgear and the blurb received in the box it works with any wireless router, and I did quite a bit of online research before purchasing. I had it working on a Salt fiber router as an extender, I then realised that because the WiFi signal from the Salt router was unreliable it was only broadcasting the same unreliable signal, I found a better use for it as a wireless access point instead, since then no problems at all, and the range is quite good as a wireless access point, with a strong signal all through a 115m2 apartment with the X6S sat centrally. I hope that this helps.

Hello Without problems is relative. It depends on how strong your signal is in the basement. If you receive three bars with your mobile phone, the meshextender should help you. Otherwise I would rather use a powerline product or an additional repeater. Greetings

Yes you can: The Nighthawk X6S WLAN repeater can also be configured as an access point and connected via Ethernet cable to an existing router or ISP device to upgrade the WLAN to AC3000 speed. The range extender can also be operated as an access point on any Ethernet connection at home to set up a tri-band WLAN there. I have connected two EX8000s to my Netgear R7800 Nighthawk X4s, one of which is also an access point via Lan (Ethernet cable) and the second one via WiFi to this access point. Everything works perfectly :-)
