In our house with 3 floors and concrete, the WAN connection for mesh routers is difficult. Therefore, I would like to connect the mesh routers via LAN and switch in the basement. The main router is on the ground floor.is that possible?

Helpful answer

Yes you can:
The Nighthawk X6S WLAN repeater can also be configured as an access point and connected via Ethernet cable to an existing router or ISP device to upgrade the WLAN to AC3000 speed. The range extender can also be operated as an access point on any Ethernet connection at home to set up a tri-band WLAN there.
I have connected two EX8000s to my Netgear R7800 Nighthawk X4s, one of which is also an access point via Lan (Ethernet cable) and the second one via WiFi to this access point. Everything works perfectly :-)

In my case, the EX8000 worked without any problems as a wired access point (the AP mode must be explicitly set in the configuration menu). The DHCP server runs on the "main router" in my network. I only use one SSID to enable roaming.

I use it as a pure WLAN over WLAN extender. It has 4 LAN ports at the back but no WAN port and the web interface has no possibility to make a bridge via a WAN i.e. LAN port or in this direction.
I don't want to go too far out on a limb, but I would say no via cable.
