It seems that the HDMI splitter has problems with audio transmission when only one output channel is used. Here are some possible solutions: 1. check the cables: make sure all HDMI cables are connected correctly and are not damaged. 2. EDID settings: Sometimes EDID problems can occur that affect audio transmission. An EDID emulator could help to solve these problems. 3. restart devices: Try to switch off all devices and switch them on again in the correct order: First the splitter, then the monitor and finally the source. If these steps do not help, it may be useful to contact the manufacturer directly or seek further support in a forum.

The PC does not recognise two screens with the splitter. Connect the second one via USB or Display Port? If necessary, a USB adapter with an additional HDMI port.

The Lindy Splitter "duplicates" the signal; i.e. it is necessarily the same; but yes, you can attach two monitors, but they will necessarily display exactly the same picture (e.g. practically as a speaker's monitor at a presentation or something; but not for the normal work desk with two monitors ;D).

The unit is an HDMI splitter, which means that one signal source can be viewed on two monitors at the same time. In your case, you must have switched off one of the two monitors (TV or PC).

The same thing has been happening with my splitter for a few days now.... :-( Before, everything was running fine. I don't know whether a software update is responsible for this (the last Windows update was on 17.07.21). I will look into this tomorrow...

According to the manufacturer's website, the resolution should work, but only up to 30Hz (maximum resolution: 4096 x 2160p 30Hz including 1080p 3D). All technical details are available here: https://www.lindy-international.com/HDMI-Splitter-Compact-2-Port-4K-30Hz.htm?websale8=ld0101.ld020102&pi=38157

I use this splitter to transmit the AV signal from the TV box to my beamer and the Samsung TV in parallel. Of course, the beamer has no sound. The TV does and it works perfectly in the highest sound quality, also via the Samsung soundbar behind it (eARC). I've been looking for this solution for a long time, because unfortunately Samsung doesn't offer HDMI out on their TVs.

With the splitter, the picture is actually only split (doubled). Normally only one signal can be displayed per output. If you only have one HDMI output and still want to expand to two external screens, then you need a USB2HDMI adapter, for example. Hi, sorry, I went through the translator because I don't speak German, I didn't keep this splitter and bought 20.10 instead Verbatim USB Type-C to HDMI, 5.50 cm, which connects to the USB-C port and allows you to have a second screen in addition to the one connected to the HDMI port. But I don't know if we can have different screen settings for each of the screens because mine are the same. But on my PC, I can definitely distinguish the parameters for each screen. I also have the laptop with the screen open and active in addition to the other 2 screens. I hope I could help you, Regards, Gilles
