Hello, I would like to connect two screens to my laptop. I only have one HDMI output, is this the right part?

The splitter only doubles the output signal, i.e. you always see exactly the same on both screens. If you want to have 2 separate screens, i.e. a different programme on each screen, then you need a docking station that matches the laptop.
