How do you lock your Segway ES1?

Not at all. It either rolls next to me in the shop or is carried/stowed folded up. Actually, only the following would be suitable for locking it: Abus U-Mini 40

That depends on how heavy you are. With the ES1 without the Battery Pack (which would make it the ES3), I couldn't get up the incline at the station with 100kg, so I had to support it a bit with my foot. Since the Battery Pack, however, I can get up these slopes without any problems.

Hi. It's available on Amazon but it doesn't have a good rating and I don't think it makes much sense. I would recommend a large, inexpensive sports bag... .

You do not have to use the app to use the scooter later. However, you should initially activate the scooter via the app and update it to the latest software version. If you don't do this, the speed of the scooter is limited and the scooter emits a continuous beep when you use it, which will get on your last nerve. So install it once and connect it to the scooter/smartphone via Bluetooth and then you can uninstall it again...

The battery can be changed, but it is more comparable to changing an iPhone battery than a Google or Samsung phone (remove the shell, take out the old one, put in the old one). In other words, it's definitely feasible, but not really designed for it. I can recommend the community of scooterhacking.org, there are some who mod their scooters and also create tutorials on how to do certain things :)

When I bought it, Digitec still said that it was approved. Some users have probably contacted Digitec to have this changed. The reason is that the scooter does not meet all the regulations "out of the box" = bell + rear light 🤓

Hi. I have the ES1 and asked at the SBB counter. The scooter has to be folded up, then you can take it with you free of charge. Here is what I found online: Tariffs 601 from SBB: 4.0.2.002 Hand luggage free of charge Lightly portable items as per T 600 that can be deposited without difficulty in the designated places as per T 600; e.g. Dismantled bicycle or similar riding device packed in carrier bags, unpacked children's trailer bicycle (slipstream bicycle) and bicycle of children under 6 years of age, small unpacked folding scooter such as kickboards as well as packed, folded unicycle, folding bicycle and trailer. Tariffs 600 states: 27.3.000 Folded or dismantled bicycles, small trailers or other riding devices are considered to be easily portable items, provided they can be accommodated in accordance with 27.1. Carriage will be provided free of charge only if they are transported packed. Infant bicycles, small scooters and shopping trolleys (including those with a bicycle hitch) are carried free of charge in all cases.

Hello, I don't know how to answer you, personally I use it on the pavement with caution! Passers-by don't hear us coming and you have to be careful, that's for sure. The product is indeed very good. The only problem is that the cover is not easy to close and you have to check the screws when you receive it, but that's a detail.

Now what about road approval, yes or no?!

Dear boys from Galaxus, now the description says again that the scooter is not approved? Let's have a look at the Kapo ZH: https://www.kapo.zh.ch/internet/sicherheitsdirektion/kapo/de/praevention/verkehr/fact_sheet.html - Trendfahrzeuge.pdf, page 2: E-scooters with a speed of up to 20 km/h are approved for road traffic. This is equivalent to bicycles. The ES1 is therefore approved, but all faster models are no longer.

Good morning. You can set an immobiliser for the scooter once via the app. You can still carry it away. To do this, you could get a small U-lock that you attach to the bar under the handlebars, like this one. Abus U-Mini 40 Or do like I do and push it through the shop 😎

Unfortunately, no. The law clearly states up to 20km/h. And with the rear light and bell mounted, of course. Otherwise, the ES2 would also be legal, as you can reduce the speed from 25 to 20 km/h using software...but whether this is really controlled by the police is a moot point, at least as long as nothing happens. I'll stick with the ES1 anyway, better safe than sorry...

With a speed of 20 km/h, this e-scooter has permission for use on cycle paths as well as for driving on roads. According to your own research, rear lights and a bell should be fitted, as this is also for your own safety.
