I am planning to buy the Segway Ninebot ES2 Lite. Now the question came up, what if the built-in battery pack is defective at some point? Can I replace the battery myself or does the e-scooter have to be sent in or disposed of? If you can replace such a battery, how high are the costs? And yes, I already know that the battery has approx. 1000 charging cycles.
The battery can be changed, but it is more comparable to changing an iPhone battery than a Google or Samsung phone (remove the shell, take out the old one, put in the old one). In other words, it's definitely feasible, but not really designed for it.
I can recommend the community of scooterhacking.org, there are some who mod their scooters and also create tutorials on how to do certain things :)
