Hello all There is an app for the ES1/2, do I have to install it or can I use the ES1/ES2 without the app? Is this only for anti-theft purposes?

You do not have to use the app to use the scooter later. However, you should initially activate the scooter via the app and update it to the latest software version. If you don't do this, the speed of the scooter is limited and the scooter emits a continuous beep when you use it, which will get on your last nerve. So install it once and connect it to the scooter/smartphone via Bluetooth and then you can uninstall it again...
