Yes, that works :-) 2.5" SATA ports have a speed of around 500-600 MB/s - so it would go faster. But it is sufficient for most applications :)
Hi Marcel I checked the Lenovo manual for P17 gen2. Supports SSD maximum 2TB M.2 2280, NVMe, PCIe 4. Your chosen Sandisk with PCIe 3 would work. PCIe is backward compatible. But there are better alternatives, I would rather take a Samsung SSD (980 pro or similar), it is faster, cheaper and immediately available. I have owned several Samsung SSDs up to now and they all still run tiptop.
As I understand it: At digitec, the warranty is 36 months (= 3 years). The manufacturer is free to give even longer factory guarantees, such as 60 months (= 5 years). Some suppliers also cover the factory warranty or sometimes go beyond it. Legally, a 2-year guarantee seems to be sufficient. With this product, digitec is currently in the middle of the field.
no idea.... would ask digitec .... (....)
You need a SATA cable and a SATA power supply. There are adapters available just in case. And to fix the SSD, there are eventually these brackets: https://www.digitec.ch/fr/Search?so=0&q=mounting%20bracket%20corsair It works perfectly in my old tower from ...... 2007!
I think the lifespan of SSDs should not be much worse than HDDs, in some cases they may even last longer depending on the usage, as there is no mechanical wear and tear as with HDDs. However, the question is whether it is worth the extra cost to switch to an SSD. Speed-wise you are slowed down by the 2x 1Gbit ports of the DS419Slim (I think it is this one, because as far as I know there is no RS419). The only advantage I can see is that your NAS would then be practically silent because the SSDs don't make any noise.
This is probably due to a setting in the BIOS of the notebooks. AHCI mode must be set in the BIOS. Older notebooks in particular do not normally have this activated, but it is important for SSDs in general, not just for the Scandisk Ultra 3D. Where to find the setting depends on the BIOS. Just search for it.
Yes, it is compatible, but according to this installation guide, you also need a mounting frame like this : - Mushkin SSD 2.5" auf 3.5" Einbaurahmen - Corsair Montagehalterung 2.5" zu 3.5" Alternatively => According to this guide, you can replace the optical drive and install the SSD with this mounting frame : RaidSonic ICY BOX IB-AC649 So you will have Dual Drives. CDs are almost obsolete at the moment.
The thickness of the HDD could also be 9mm or even 12mm... With its 7mm, this disc should fit. If there is no suitable adapter to compensate for the thickness, you can make do with felt pads.
I installed this SSD in my PS4 Pro - works without any problems :)
yes. every ssd is compatible with mac. I installed it myself in my imac 2014.
Yes, but only a little when reading but clearly when writing. You have the function Compare articles at Digitec. There you can compare articles directly with each other. Mfg
Probably not, otherwise it would be described... I assume that is why the product Sandisk SSD Notebook Upgrade Kit is sold separately.
The 860 has better IOPS rates, plus it has Samsung B-die chips in it, which are actually always very good. In terms of durability, they will be pretty much the same.
Read/write rate of the Sandisk is a little faster, but Max. Random 4K Read/Write are higher on the Samsung. In everyday use you won't notice a tangible difference just because the values are so close to each other, it only becomes noticeably faster/slower in benchmarks.
