Hello Need an additional SSD for memory expansion for a Lenovo Think Pad P17 Gen.2 / Ser.No. PF3ATAMT. I still have 2 slots free NVMe1 and NVMe2. Does this item fit? I am not a professional?

Hi Marcel
I checked the Lenovo manual for P17 gen2.
Supports SSD maximum 2TB M.2 2280, NVMe, PCIe 4.
Your chosen Sandisk with PCIe 3 would work. PCIe is backward compatible. But there are better alternatives,
I would rather take a Samsung SSD (980 pro or similar), it is faster, cheaper and immediately available. I have owned several Samsung SSDs up to now
and they all still run tiptop.

That should be possible, the size of the M.2 2280 (22x80mm) is installed with a PCIe 4.0 interface.

Personally, I would recommend Samsung. I have been using them personally and in business for several years and have never had any problems.

Here is a filter with a possible selection (note that some of these have heat sinks, which would not fit):

Samsung 980 Pro (1000 GB, M.2 2280)
--> PCIe 4.0, whereby this is not noticeable in terms of speed.

Samsung SSD 980 (1000 GB, M.2 2280)
--> PCIe 3.0 only, but would also be unnecessarily fast for data storage ;-)

Kingston NV1 (2000 GB, M.2 2280)
--> Twice the capacity of the others and only slightly more expensive. Slower, however, which is still fast enough for normal data storage.
