There is always the question of whether the SSDs will run long enough in a NAS in RAID mode. I see no real reason for Pro SSDs in a home NAS, but I am thinking about SSDs for my Synology RS 419. Couldn't really find anything on the net about RAID capability.
I think the lifespan of SSDs should not be much worse than HDDs, in some cases they may even last longer depending on the usage, as there is no mechanical wear and tear as with HDDs.
However, the question is whether it is worth the extra cost to switch to an SSD.
Speed-wise you are slowed down by the 2x 1Gbit ports of the DS419Slim (I think it is this one, because as far as I know there is no RS419). The only advantage I can see is that your NAS would then be practically silent because the SSDs don't make any noise.
