It has road approval. I had to do quite a bit of reading to find that out.
The best thing to do is to contact our customer service directly at https://helpcenter.galaxus.ch/hc/de/requests/new. Your request can then be examined individually.
It happened to me once at the beginning. You have to make sure that it clicks into place. When it clicks, the handlebars always hold.
The rated power is 250 watts for this e-scooter.
No, unfortunately you can't lock it. I have bought a lock.
Basically very satisfied. It has a lot of power and I drive it up a slope of about 10% (probably a bit more) at 16Km/h with 80Kg in sport mode. The only thing that bothers me is the software lock at 20 km/h. You notice that the thing wants to go faster. You notice that the thing wants to go faster and could probably easily go up to 30-35. As a result, it jerks again and again at the maximum speed and I have the feeling that it brakes jerkily again and again. Since you can't install firmware on it yourself, as with other scooters, it's a bit of a shame. I don't notice any difference to pneumatic tyres, but the suspension is very well tuned. But I wouldn't go off-road with it and it's not recommended for cobblestones either. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the design, suspension and power.
Many thanks for the tip. According to our research, our offer also has approval for public roads. We have already forwarded this internally to the responsible department and hope that it will be adjusted in the near future.
Hello Claudia It's not the same model. Merlin's still has the handbrake. I bought the X4 back then, but it still had a 25 km/h speed limit, so it wasn't street legal. But if the manufacturer says so, you shouldn't have any problems. Hope I could help and best regards, Roman
I have already done over 1100 km with the scooter, and have been riding it to work every day for over a year. Even in rainy weather, no problems have occurred yet. I think the scooter is great.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find it at the moment. However, you could contact the customer support and ask whether a product recording would be possible.
It depends on how steep the mountain is. But really good so far.
Unfortunately, our supplier does not currently offer this version, which is why we cannot say when and if we will be able to offer the Micro Merlin X4 with handbrake.
Yes, it has a licence. It is important to set the right speed level.
I bought this vehicle before a week ago and it runs at 25 km/h. So the vehicle is probably not street legal.
By placing the scooter in the camel position with a handle, it stands securely. There is an electric brake for the front and a rear brake. As soon as the rear brake is applied, the front brake also brakes. There is no built-in anti-theft device and the battery is permanently installed.
I have contacted the manufacturer directly with this question. Here is the answer I received by email: The Merlin has been officially allowed to drive on Swiss roads for a few weeks. We are currently busy informing our customers and dealers about the approval. However, it is only allowed if the speed of 20km/h is not exceeded. On the one hand, this is your own responsibility, but it can also be set with a mode (Eco Mode 2).
Yes, that is correct, there is this mode.
Unfortunately we do not have this information, I invite you to contact the brand directly to find out more : https://www.micro-mobility.com/en/contact
As long as you don't crash it or escape the police, it shouldn't be a problem!
Thank you very much for the info! I have forwarded this for review.
You can change the mode yourself. It is not sealed. To change the mode, however, you have to switch it off. You can only change it when you switch on. (Press and hold the brake, switch on, then select the mode by pressing the throttle n times).

The Emicro Merlin is definitely not approved for road use in Switzerland. However, no one notices that in everyday life. I've been riding around with Micro e-scooters since 2015. The police have never been interested in the vehicle. Just by looking at the Emicro Merlin, you can't tell whether it is registered for the road or not. Accordingly, it will probably not cause any trouble.
