Are you still satisfied with the scooter? What about ride comfort and safety (grip)? I was actually looking for something with pneumatic tyres, and as far as I know the Merlin X4 has solid rubber - but front and rear suspension. Has anyone had a comparison and can give feedback?
Basically very satisfied. It has a lot of power and I drive it up a slope of about 10% (probably a bit more) at 16Km/h with 80Kg in sport mode. The only thing that bothers me is the software lock at 20 km/h. You notice that the thing wants to go faster. You notice that the thing wants to go faster and could probably easily go up to 30-35. As a result, it jerks again and again at the maximum speed and I have the feeling that it brakes jerkily again and again. Since you can't install firmware on it yourself, as with other scooters, it's a bit of a shame. I don't notice any difference to pneumatic tyres, but the suspension is very well tuned. But I wouldn't go off-road with it and it's not recommended for cobblestones either. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the design, suspension and power.
The ride comfort is great. I often drive over a gravel road without any problems. Very pleasant to ride. But I don't have a comparison with pneumatic tyres without suspension.
Thank you very much for your answers. I have had the scooter since today and am very happy with it. I didn't think that the suspension could conceal the solid rubber tyres so well. I can understand the acceleration problem, it's a pity that there is no newer firmware despite the long product life. On the other hand, I was surprised by the power on hills, where other scooters with more watts are no better.
