Basically very satisfied. It has a lot of power and I drive it up a slope of about 10% (probably a bit more) at 16Km/h with 80Kg in sport mode. The only thing that bothers me is the software lock at 20 km/h. You notice that the thing wants to go faster. You notice that the thing wants to go faster and could probably easily go up to 30-35. As a result, it jerks again and again at the maximum speed and I have the feeling that it brakes jerkily again and again. Since you can't install firmware on it yourself, as with other scooters, it's a bit of a shame. I don't notice any difference to pneumatic tyres, but the suspension is very well tuned. But I wouldn't go off-road with it and it's not recommended for cobblestones either. Otherwise, I'm very happy with the design, suspension and power.

Hello Claudia It's not the same model. Merlin's still has the handbrake. I bought the X4 back then, but it still had a 25 km/h speed limit, so it wasn't street legal. But if the manufacturer says so, you shouldn't have any problems. Hope I could help and best regards, Roman

By placing the scooter in the camel position with a handle, it stands securely. There is an electric brake for the front and a rear brake. As soon as the rear brake is applied, the front brake also brakes. There is no built-in anti-theft device and the battery is permanently installed.

I have contacted the manufacturer directly with this question. Here is the answer I received by email: The Merlin has been officially allowed to drive on Swiss roads for a few weeks. We are currently busy informing our customers and dealers about the approval. However, it is only allowed if the speed of 20km/h is not exceeded. On the one hand, this is your own responsibility, but it can also be set with a mode (Eco Mode 2).

You can change the mode yourself. It is not sealed. To change the mode, however, you have to switch it off. You can only change it when you switch on. (Press and hold the brake, switch on, then select the mode by pressing the throttle n times).

The Emicro Merlin is definitely not approved for road use in Switzerland. However, no one notices that in everyday life. I've been riding around with Micro e-scooters since 2015. The police have never been interested in the vehicle. Just by looking at the Emicro Merlin, you can't tell whether it is registered for the road or not. Accordingly, it will probably not cause any trouble.
