get yourself another cpu, in the meantime you can get one from amd for 80... at the moment the 9th intel gen is upcoming... and about the cooler, the be quiet pure rock lasts a long time, is cheap, looks pretty good, is quiet and is easy to install
Can't answer the question exactly, but maybe it helps to estimate: I have the 6600k with a be quiet! Pure Rock running at 4.5GHz and I can hardly get above 40°C even under load.
No cooling, in fact K processors do not have a fan
Hello tree33, Yes, the i5 6600K harmonises wonderfully with a GTX 1070, I have a similar combination myself and am very satisfied. You should be able to play all the latest games with it, provided you have the right motherboard. In my opinion, an i7 is only worthwhile if you also use multithreading-intensive applications, such as video rendering with Adobe After Effects or 3D programmes like Maya or Cinema 4D, etc. Greetings, Nick
Please open a discussion for this. The questions under products are not suitable for such things.
4k gaming with a GTX 1060 is impossible with current games. The only option is a 1080 or, even better, a 1080 Ti, which will be released soon :)
The only thing that could possibly be adapted would be the CPU cooler. be quiet! Shadow Rock 2 (16cm) for example. A bit more powerful and hardly more expensive.
Yes, Since you have a free multiplier and these processors can usually be overclocked well - with the appropriate cooling - you can get some performance from them. If you are not interested in overclocking (note: if done correctly, this is a very time-consuming "hobby"), you can go for H170 and non-K processors. Note: Overclocking is done in the Bios and not with manufacturer tools under Windows... ;)
No, you can't. Laptops basically have special mobile versions of processors. Please check the specifications of a laptop and their mainboards for compatible processors or contact the manufacturer.
Honestly, if you're going to spend money on a 1080, you should also get a 6700k. There are benchmarks on the net that are supposed to show that the i5's can't quite cope with the new Pascal GPUs (1070 / 1080), or that the CPU is probably limited in certain scenarios.
Hi Simon, How is this value important to you? Are you building a new PC and want to reuse the old power supply? If so, we would still need to know what kind of graphics card you currently have. If you have a 500 watt power supply, then you should be able to install this CPU without any problems, even with a 1070.
The K means that the processor has a free multiplier and is therefore suitable for overclocking. Although it is easier today than it used to be, you should know how to do it, otherwise you will break more than it helps. Besides, it's the graphics cards rather than the CPU that are limiting today. In your case and assuming that you have no ambitions to overclock, I would recommend the normal i5.

I have the same CPU and the ASUS MAKSIMUS RANGER VIII MB. Works very well !!! Everything is fast !!! No problem for the game, everything is fine !!!
yes kalr, why shouldn't it work!?
No, you have to buy it separately.
So it now runs at 4.3Ghz.
No, the board has LGA 2011 socket, the above mentioned CPU LGA 1151!
No, the box contains only the CPU. The cooler is not included.
Even if they were to come in January, I would not recommend these CPUs. The only thing that has changed is the clock speed. Practically no increase in IPC, maybe 1-2% max, but then 10-15% more expensive.
