Because you can directly call up commands in e.g. Elgato, OBS, x-Split, Streamlabs OBS or also functions of Twitter and co. via software (obligatory for defining the key functions). All this would only work awkwardly or not at all via macro keys on normal keyboards. In addition, you can also define entire processes directly in Streamdeck (e.g. start programme, define Twitch game, start scene, mute microphone, deactivate webcam source) - and all that with just one press of a button.

The app generally allows programmes to be started and key combinations to be simulated (hotkeys). It also supports a few programmes directly and allows certain functions in these programmes to be called up directly. These programmes are currently: Game Capture, Mixer, OBS Studio, Soundboard, Streamlabs OBS, TipeeeStream, Twitch, Twitter, XSplit and YouTube. But actually, you should be able to control everything with the hotkey function, as all good programmes offer hotkeys for the important functions.

that is possible. The first hit on Google for the search "Copy Streamdeck settings" provides a link to a help page from Elgato where this is explained in detail. Short version: Save the settings on one computer, transfer the backup to another computer and restore them there. If the settings contain paths, e.g. to self-defined icons, these must of course be found in the same place on both computers.

The USB cable is permanently connected to the Stream Deck. Therefore, no additional cable is needed.

Not a recorder! It is a USB controller. Like a keyboard on which you can assign the keys yourself. It's Mac compatible, even though it says PC version on the box🤣.

Hello - and so far it has worked well or the actions have been reactive? USB cable? Is it the original one? Do you unplug it and plug it in again? Do you have an action with a huge macro behind it? Have you set a photo icon that may be huge (large file or raw..)? Do you have an update to import? ...

Possibly via the application NirCmd. NirCmd is a small command line programme that includes various system commands. These commands can also be integrated into the stream deck. I tried the following with it: Integrated the command "System / Open" in the stream deck and stored the following command there (without inverted commas): "C:\Windows\nircmd.exe changeappvolume Firefox.exe -0.5". This halves the volume of Firefox.

Hello Luca, You can use it to automate everything that can be done on the computer with mouse clicks or key combinations. With complex processes, however, it can take a little more effort to get it right. So probably also the switching, if this can be done from your computer. can be done from your computer (i.e. no mechanical switches outside the PC... ;-) ) Greetings JFS

Must be connected to a computer so that the device can communicate with the software and knows which button triggers what. If you have smart lights in your home, various products are suitable. Voice control would be a possibility. If you are looking for something more pushable, I can recommend the Google Nest hub.
