Does the stream deck have to be connected to a pc at all times? Or can I have it next to my bed to control the lights in my room? If not, does anyone know of such a keyboard that can do this?

Must be connected to a computer so that the device can communicate with the software and knows which button triggers what.
If you have smart lights in your home, various products are suitable. Voice control would be a possibility. If you are looking for something more pushable, I can recommend the Google Nest hub.
