I don't see any problems. The GTX 980 would be the better choice, but it has its price. There are certain objections to the GTX 970 because the memory handling can reach its limits when used with 4k resolution at the highest resolution. In my opinion, this is a theoretical discussion. I am very satisfied with the price-performance ratio.
Theoretically it works - but for what! It was a rip-off back then and for 80 Stutz you can get better today - sigar from Nvidia.
Do yourself a favour and do without SLI! Unfortunately, there are no reasonable SLI profiles for many games, so you can only play with 1 graphics card. And although a GTX 970 is actually solid (up to 1080p), it will soon no longer be enough. A GTX 970 is probably the worst card for SLI, because it still has the 3.5 GB debacle. Keep in mind that (currently) the VRAM does not add up with SLI, which means that even with SLI you "only" have 4GB (or 3.5) and that's not very much these days, especially for 1440p or even 4K... I wouldn't judge the card only by its appearance. If you already have a GTX 970, save the money and enjoy the solid performance up to 1080p. If it's no longer enough, buy a 1070 (or a 980ti (maybe occasion) if you're on a tight budget) or whatever is current at the time.
The dimensions can be found on the net (official Asus page), so it's best to check yourself. It will probably be difficult to find out if someone has the same case.
It depends on what model of Tharsis you have. That is, how old it is. - What kind of graphics card do you have at the moment? - Do you know what kind of motherboard is in it? - Or how powerful is your power supply? Equally important is the space you have available in the enclosure. That is, behind the graphics card until other components are in the way. As soon as I know that, I can tell you for sure whether the GTX 970 or comparable ones will work.
As long as the product sells, I see no reason to adjust the price. - Brimstone 2016, quote from the Marketing 1x1 Survival Book.
No. You need a screen with G-Sync.
Madness! You must be a psychic! Can you perhaps also tell me the lottery numbers for Wednesday while you're at it? Thank you very much.
It is possible. But the best way is via Displayport cable. You simply can't play 4k games, you would need 3x GTX 970 or 2x GTX 980 ti.
So, if you can wait another 1-2 months, the new generation of GPUs is coming out, from Nvidia and AMD. Both of them are making great strides and, based on the leaks, it could still be quite interesting. Regarding 4K; Actually, you still have to make compromises, either 2 strong cards and micro stutters and partial compatibility problems, or 1 strong card and live with lower FPS. At max. details, 60+ FPS, there is still no card that can handle 4K. And I mean modern, technically demanding titles. Of course there are people who disagree with me and are of the opinion that "everything runs suuuuper smoothly in 4K, people only see 24 FPS anyway and blah blah blah...). My tip: Be patient with 4K, in the next 1-2 years the hardware will be ready, including monitors and connections...DVI 4K with 120Hertz... Freesync or G-Sync etc.
Den: ASUS M32CD-CH027T (Intel Core i7-6700, 16GB, SSD, HDD) ? Then: 1) No 2) No, only same GPU+VRAM under SLI 3) Just wait for the new Pascal/Polaris GPUs in June.
Hello GiantLich, theoretically, you can safely install the graphics card because you have a PCIe x16 slot. However, there are one or two things to consider: - The size of the graphics card: the dimensions of the graphics card are 28 x 14 x 4 cm. This is most likely bigger than your old GraKa, so you may run out of space in the case or on the mainboard (which seems pretty tight). - The power supply: First, the power consumption is higher, second, you need a different power connector. The 600W power supply shouldn't be a problem, but check if you have a PCI-E 8-pin power connector, which the GTX 970 needs. Otherwise, there seem to be other GTX 970 models where you can get an adapter, e.g. the MSI card. And then I just want to briefly point out that there are some users here who say that the AMD Radeon models deliver much better value for money, so you can also consider getting an R9 390 Nitro, although of course the same considerations as above have to be made!
no, this is a design-related problem; part of the memory remains neutered, i.e. connected with a fraction of the bandwidth of the rest of the memory. FINGER AWAY
Is that the OC version from ASUS (STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5) or do they only make this version anyway?
Yes, it is the DC2OC, Asus does not offer another Strix GTX970. The manufacturer number given by Digitec (90YV07F0-M0NA00) also shows in a Google search that it must be the DC2OC, even if not explicitly stated by Digitec.
Clearly the 980 Ti performance is top and the graphics memory also in GTA 5 you already get your 50 FPS and in other games even more :) and if the performance should no longer be sufficient in 2 years you simply install a second Graka then you have in any case a system that lasts for a few years mfg
According to the Internet community, the successor to a GTX 670 should be sufficient. However, I would wait until November for the final FPS tests. What CPU/memory combination do you have?
Unfortunately we cannot offer this promotional action at the moment. We ask for your understanding.
Hey Had a quick look at a video on yt. Average 50 fps (varies from 45 to 67 fps).
