Scare yourself with us through our Halloween gaming special

Halloween is an opportunity to play a few scary games. Simon and I have picked out four candidates that should scare us, but also make us laugh. We're getting started today at 17:00.

During our last Halloween stream, Simon smashed up half the furniture in the studio out of fear. That probably won't happen this year. For one thing, we're no longer streaming from the basement of the digitec building, but from home. And secondly, the horror teddy bears from "Five Nights at Freddy's" will no longer be there this time. But we have found a worthy replacement.

"Witch it"

Let's get started with the multiplayer title "Witch it". Anyone familiar with the "Half-Life" mod "PropHunt" will know what it's all about. There are two parties, hunters and witches. The witches have to hide and can transform themselves into all kinds of objects. The aim is to remain as inconspicuous as possible so that the hunters don't find you. Although the game is still in early access, it is already playing perfectly.

"Among Us"

The multiplayer sensation, which is actually already two years old, is probably familiar to everyone by now. "Among Us" is the digital equivalent of "Werewolf". There is a traitor in a spaceship. He tries to kill the crew, while they in turn complete small missions and naturally want to find out who the traitor is.

"Left 4 Dead 2"

Another game that is not quite up to date, but has long enjoyed cult status. In addition, "The Last Stand" was recently released as a huge, official Community update with new maps, weapons and enemy types. The rest remains the same. As a team of four, you fight your way through zombie-infested levels and try not to get nibbled on.

"Phasmophobia"

The ghost hunter game "Phasmophobia" rounds off the programme. In this game, you and up to three other players venture into dimly lit houses and abandoned asylums. Equipped with all kinds of tools that would make Egon from the Ghostbusters' eyes light up, you have to find out what kind of ghost is haunting the place. Use voice commands to lure the horror creatures out of the reserve. But make sure you don't turn into a floating sheet yourself in the process.

When and where do we start?

We will start the livestream on Saturday 31 October at 17:00 on Youtube, Facebook and Twitch and play until around 20:00.

Being the game and gadget geek that I am, working at digitec and Galaxus makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop – but it does take its toll on my wallet. I enjoy tinkering with my PC in Tim Taylor fashion and talking about games on my podcast http://www.onemorelevel.ch. To satisfy my need for speed, I get on my full suspension mountain bike and set out to find some nice trails. My thirst for culture is quenched by deep conversations over a couple of cold ones at the mostly frustrating games of FC Winterthur.
