For example, HomeKit is supported.
Yes, you can select in the settings of the adapter that this is a "solar panel / electricity production".
Ok, what if I don't have a WiFi signal at the external socket because the distance from the router in the house is too great?
Unfortunately, this is still not possible with the version I bought three weeks ago. In my case, it even covers all the three-pin sockets, which were installed about 23 years ago and, unlike others, have the hole for the earthing pointing outwards. It is too expensive for me to change the sockets everywhere, I would rather spend a little more on a rotating version of the smart plug.
no, this unit can only be on/off
a good alternative would be Eve Energy Eve Energy - CH (Matter) (Type 13) Another good alternative would be Shelly Plus Plug (Schuko plug) Shelly Plus Plug S (CEE 7/3) Adapter Max Hauri Fixadapter Kupplung Schuko (Type 12, CEE 7/7)
It depends on your requirements. Ikea has good and inexpensive smart plugs (Tretakt). Big disadvantage: not great for Swiss multiple sockets. Also need a hub. Lower standby power because not via WiFi.
I recommend that you contact the manufacturer directly or seek legal advice.
The plug is relatively "dumb". Schedules are not saved locally in the device. A "backend" is always required. This can be the official cloud from myStrom or your own cloudless home automation software. Nothing really works without WLAN... For people with programming skills: The REST API is publicly documented (https://api.mystrom.ch/#rest-api)
Yes, that is possible. A hub (Apple TV 3 gen, HomePod Mini,...) is only needed if you want to control the devices from outside your home, give someone else access or for automations.
This socket measures the instantaneous consumption of the appliances connected to it. It's the same as the popular "Kill-a-Watt". So if, for example, your installation supplies 2000 W but you only plug in 30 W, the smartplug will indicate 30 W. For what you want to do, you need something different.
It doesn't need a home base. But the corresponding app on the smartphone!
The data consumption of the switches is very low as there is no active communication during normal operation. The switching times are downloaded to the switch and then it controls the on and off times locally. Data is only sent back and forth if something is reprogrammed.
This will not work mechanically: Devices with a connected current of over 10A no longer have a T13 plug (round pins) but a T23 plug (square/square pins), but the Smartplug has a T13 socket (round holes). The device drawing 16A cannot be plugged into the Smartplug at all. (T13 plugs fit into T23 sockets but not the other way round). The reason for this is to protect installations & devices that are only approved for 10A from damage - and in the worst case, fire. Because (permanent) overcurrent leads to damage.
The internet provider is not decisive. Only WLAN access is required.
The adapters only work with the router switched on. The router must therefore not be connected to the adapter.
No, it only works properly with a cloud or hosted service by the supplier.
No, unfortunately not. No data without WLAN. The energy measurement is also transmitted directly to Mystrom. Even if you operate the device via SmartHome in your own network, only online data can be recorded; there is no memory (yet).
According to myStrom website : only wireless/WiFi standard IEEE 802.11n / 2.4 GHz
If you know where you are, what this smartlug can find out, then you know when the sun rises and sets. https://www.sonnenverlauf.de/#/46.9484,7.4405,12/2023.02.27/08:44/1/0
