Also had weird phenomena with my MacBook Pro, so switched to another docking station as the Icy Box is officially designed for Windows 10.

The IB-DK2106-C can only do 30Hz with 4K and that is absolutely not recommended, scrolling at 30Hz is a torture for the eyes, 60Hz is at least necessary for it to be good in the long run. In general, you can say about these docks that if a VGA connection is also included, then it's usually over with 4K and 60Hz.

Yes, a Macbook Air with M1 processor can control an external screen, I would use a large 32 inch 4K UHD screen on the Macbook Air with M1 processor instead of two small screens (don't know how big they are). They are not expensive, e.g. this model would be very good because it can also charge the Macbook Air at the same time via USB-C, so you only need to connect one USB-C cable for picture, sound and charging.

Then the notebook cannot be charged via the USBC connection. You would have to clarify this with the manufacturer/supplier of the notebook.

Is not included. I'm being using the one of my laptop and works OK. So the charger should satisfy at least your laptop requirements

Since the IcyBox does not have its own power connection, it is unsuitable as a replacement for a charger.

Hi Thomas , the docking station has a usb c power port , there you can connect a usb c charger and via the usb c cable which goes to the laptop from the charging station, it can be charged at the same time, but only if your laptop supports charging via usb c.
I sold the part again precisely because of that. Could not get it right

We had 8 of these in use, also with HP Probook. We replaced them because the HDMI connections didn't work... I don't know what's wrong with this product. My tip: replace it! You already have the power supply, you can continue to use it.

The MateBook has USB-C so it should work fine via HDMI
Do you have the right HDMI cables?
It would be important that the cables have a performance of 18gb/s or at least 10.2gb/s (1.4b).
Your notebook may not have a usb-c that supports DP. Try connecting a monitor directly to the notebook with HDMI. If this works, then it is almost certainly due to the USB-C.
