Hello, Thank you for your question. If you need a longer "USB-C to USB-A" cable, any cable should work correctly. "USB-C to USB-C" is a different story. There are too many things that may not work properly because the cable needs to support data transfer and power (charging via USB-C). In both cases, I strongly recommend looking for cables that are not cheap, but this is especially true for "USB-C to USB-C" cables. Hello I own this docking station. Unfortunately, the power supply now seems to be defective. An acquaintance has exactly the same model, so I can rule out that it is a different defect, as we have tried it out with his power supply unit. Now my question is, how can I get a replacement power supply unit? It is important that it has the same technical capacities so that charging via USB-C is still possible.

The docking no longer works. Resp. the mouse only works on the notebook (is plugged into the docking) but no longer on the two screens. Also, only one of the two screens is still working. Could it be the USB-C cable or the docking? THANKS

The docking solution will work on the HP 840 G5 and Acer Nitro 5, but there is a maximum resolution of 5K and a maximum of 60 Hz. 144Hz is not possible with this docking solution.

I want to use this with both an Asus GL504G (no USB-C, with Windows 10) and a Lenovo P14s (has USB-C, dual-boot Ubuntu and Windows 10) with two monitors AOC Q24P2Q (2560 x 1440 pixels). Will both laptops work with this docking, and can I use the full 2560 x 1440 of both monitors with either, or which docking would you recommend for my use case? Thank you very much!

I use the docking station with a Surface Book 3 and a Dell monitor U3419W, it worked well at the beginning. Since a few weeks there are unexpected and external influences to short interruptions whereupon the image of the monitor has to reload. Cables etc. are new and should be fine. Does anyone have an idea what the problem could be?

Hello netsprite, I don't use the night mode but I tested it for you (out of interest). Night mode works for me. There is the possibility to activate the night mode directly --> Settings > System > Display > Settings for the night mode - button "Activate now". If it is greyed out and cannot be operated, try updating the display driver or reinstalling it. Also check, as already mentioned, if your external monitor supports this. I wish you much success in trying it out.

Did you connect it to the USB-C port in the front or in the back. Charging will only work in the back.

The product works perfectly when the laptop is open. However, as soon as I close my MBP 2018 16" and only want to run my two monitors, I lose the connection to the motors from about 3-5 seconds and they go into sleep mode. What could be the problem? Thanks for the feedback.

Mine also makes a very high-pitched noise when it is switched on. This is most likely a coil whine problem: some components charge and discharge at an audible frequency and this charging/discharging introduces a slight physical movement. If the noise bothers you too much, you should probably switch to another product.

Can this docking station be used with both a MacBook (Retina, 12 inch, early 2015) and an HP EliteBook (x360 1030 G2)? And 2 monitors can be connected in each case. Thank you for the answer.

I have 2 monitors on my computer (1x FullHD, 1x 4K) which works without any problems. The whole thing with an HP Elitebook with Thunderbolt. I don't see any problems there. But the Macbook only has USB C. That means the data rate is 10Gbit/s if I'm not mistaken. FullHD at 60Hz needs approx. 8.5GB/s, so two of these should work. If you have higher resolution monitors it will be difficult. 2x 4K60Hz with the hp should work according to the specification.

The USB-C connection is also the Thunderbolt connection. Unfortunately, USB-C is only the definition for the mechanical connection, but not for the possible signal transmission.

Hello, No, the charging process on the side of the docking station cannot be interrupted. The docking station complies with all official PowerDelivery standards. According to these standards, the laptop is the main device that requires / orders how much power it needs from the docking station. However, modern batteries and laptop electronics may choose not to charge the battery. Many laptop manufacturers have set a limit (around 90%) when the laptop will not charge the battery if the capacity exceeds this limit. This is a very specific question to a combination of devices which very rarely can be answered. I use this docking station since over a year on a daily basis in mi home office with my private as well as with my business laptop (Windows PCs) over Thunderbolt with two different monitors (HDMI and DisplayPort). So far the only downside with this product is that from time to time the resolution on one screen changes to worse. ... In this case I just turn the affected monitor off and on again and everything is back to normal. Probably it's not even the fault of this docking station.

Does this dock support DisplayPort MST, or only DisplayLink? Background: I tried to get this dock to work on a Dell XPS 9360 laptop, which supports DisplayPort via the Thunderbolt 3 USB-C connection, but it did not work on Linux, even with the Ubuntu live CD. Installing DisplayLink drivers helps, but the image quality is bad on Linux, and performance is much worse than DisplayPort. Can't really recommend this dock without direct DisplayPort support.

Hello, This docking station uses DisplayLink. In order for any DisplayLink docking station to work on Ubuntu (or any Linux distribution), you have to install DisplayLink drivers - they are not part of Live CD - external monitors will not work there. Regarding the performance and quality, it really depends on the CPU of your laptop, resolution of external monitor(s) and work that you do on your laptop. DisplayLink software is only able to use CPU and because of that performance may vary. I use Dell XPS 9380 on Ubuntu 20.04 with 2 external fullHD monitors and everything works correctly, but I do use it only for regular office work. Hi community! I use different technology for my work/private environments and I was wondering if this dockingstation could help solving the gap. The hosts for the dockingstation would be: MBP 13 early 2011 (TB 1 - Mojave/Catalina) MBP 13 2016 ( 2x TB 3 Windows 10 pro) Galaxy TabPro S ( USB-C windows 10 Home) Galaxy S9+ ( Samsung Dex) I have two 24" 2k displays HDMI 1.4 /DP 1.2 My goal is a 1 cable connection to the hosts ( except the MBP 11 that would need power) with the two displays working at 1440p and 60hz. Has anyone tried or know if this setup would work with this dockingstation? Thanks alot for your help!
