Is this DAC also an AMP? I recently bought the Beyerdynamic Dt 990 pro with 250 ohm, which need more power. Will I get more volume and power out of my headphones with this, or is it just a signal converter.

Can the somewhat weak audio output of the iPad also be amplified with this device in order to amplify the signal for the AUX input of the HIFI system? In this case, is it also possible to connect via BT from the iPad in order to play music via the HIFI system?

I don't know what product Tequillakilla is describing, but what it says is definitely wrong in relation to the Soundblaster E5. The product can be used for exactly what Stephankäm is asking about. The Soundblaster E5 functions as a BT receiver for the signal from the iPad, converts it into an analogue signal (DAC) and outputs it via the analogue line out or the headphone output. At the same time, you can also optimise the sound to your own liking via the app on the iPad (both with the equaliser and with the SBX Pro). CAVE: the E5 is not a Bluetooth transmitter! No signal can be sent to a Bluetooth receiver or BT headphones. It doesn't make sense, because you want to use the DAC in the E5, which is superior to the DAC in the usual BT receivers or BT headphones.

Can the Bluetooth be configured as INPUT (smartphone - aptX - E5) or as OUTPUT (E5 - aptX - BT headset)? Can I connect my Sony 1000XM2 incl. Mic via BT to my PC with the E5?

Salute DeSevi, No, the E5 only has a Bluetooth INPUT. It cannot be used to connect headphones as a receiving device.... unfortunately... However, I can pair a mobile phone with it and make calls via the integrated microphones.

I plan to use this device as an AUX input amplifier in the car. My previous receiver could play music but did not give sound when talking on the phone. Does this device do that?

The Creative Soundblaster X5 sound card says "Mains operation via USB power supply DC 5 V / 1 A". Is it possible to run this card without a PC?

As soon as the unit is connected to a computer via USB, the computer recognises it as a sound card (at least with Windows 10)! Optical digital input/output is also available as an alternative.
