How does the power supply work? USB? The USB port does not seem to be a standard port.

Yes, it is a USB mini-B 5-pin connector. A cable is included which has this type on one side and the standard type A on the other for your PC/notebook. lg

I have a Behringer mixing console with various microphones. Can I make recordings on a PC with this sound card? How does the line in behave if I don't connect a record player but a mixer? Can I use the Can I deactivate the preamplifier of the record player in the sound card? Thank you

I am not familiar with mixing consoles, but I assume that they provide "normal" analogue signal outputs with RCA connectors. The line-in/phono input can be used to make recordings on the PC. The input from the sound card should be selectable in the recording programme of the PC. This works without problems with the freeware programme "Audacity". The preamplifier for the line-in/phono input is apparently only switched on if the input "Phono-In (USB-Sound Blaster HD)" is selected in the recording programme. I use the sound card to transfer tape recordings from a Sony DAT device to the PC. For this purpose, I can use both the TOS link input (for digital signal from the DAT device, "SPDIF-In (USB-Sound Blaster HD)") and the line-in/phono input (for analogue signal, "Line-In (USB-Sound Blaster HD)") of the sound card. I have not yet selected the phono input. However, I assume that the relatively strong signal from the DAT device would hopelessly overload the sound card.

I am a bit lost. I have the following setup: PC (mainboard ASUS Maximus Impact VI) connected to my speakers via Bluetooth. My headset is also connected to the PC via a 3.5mm jack. I also have my PS4. The PS is connected to the speakers via the controller using a 3.5mm jack cable. I want my PC and the Playstation to be connected to my speakers and headset. And I can choose between input and output. I don't want to have a cable connected to the controller anymore, this is very annoying (headset/speaker). Does this external sound card allow me to control I/O at the same time ? I sometimes play on the PS and watch Youtube on the PC at the same time. Until now, I always had to move the headset from the PC, connect it to the PS controller and then back again.

Again about the power supply: On the laptop, the unit works (blue power light is on). But with a (different) USB charger, the power LED remains dark and the unit mute. Does the unit only work with a connected PC?

Only connected to a charger, the power LED remains dark. Only a PC or laptop recognises the SoundBlaster and the LED lights up. Without a computer, the SoundBlaster makes little sense. With my notebook, I needed an active USB hub so that enough power was available.

This product can also be used as a digital/analogue converter. The performance is 24bit or up to 96 kHz.
