As has already been answered: An external sound card is not suitable for solving the problem described. A simple solution would be to replace the Bluetooth speakers with a home cinema system (AV receiver plus speakers individually or as a combo). The system must have an optical input (Toslink) for connecting the PS. Switching between PC and PS is done on the home cinema system. You can find inexpensive systems on Ricardo etc.
I am a bit lost. I have the following setup: PC (mainboard ASUS Maximus Impact VI) connected to my speakers via Bluetooth. My headset is also connected to the PC via a 3.5mm jack. I also have my PS4. The PS is connected to the speakers via the controller using a 3.5mm jack cable. I want my PC and the Playstation to be connected to my speakers and headset. And I can choose between input and output. I don't want to have a cable connected to the controller anymore, this is very annoying (headset/speaker).
Does this external sound card allow me to control I/O at the same time ?
I sometimes play on the PS and watch Youtube on the PC at the same time. Until now, I always had to move the headset from the PC, connect it to the PS controller and then back again.
The sound card is not autonomous. Please do not confuse it with a mixing console.
The sound card must be regarded as an internal sound card. The inputs ultimately run via the PC. If you activate the line-in signal on the PC correctly, you can use it as a second sound source and mix PC and Playstation sound via the PC. However, the PC must be switched on all the time. I would recommend an inexpensive mixing console. That way you can control all the sound through the mixer. I have the same sound card including a Behringer mixing console.
