The optical patch cable (jumper cable) is a standard or custom connection cable that is terminated with optical connectors at both ends. Patch cables are used to connect devices within a distribution point or to link active components with the optical line terminating in the distribution point. Patch cables are typically duplex (2x fiber, 4x connectors); simplex cables (1x fiber, 2x connectors) can also be provided for single-fiber WDM applications upon request. E2000, SC, and LC connectors are connected in a duplex design with a detachable clip, allowing the duplex patch cable to be split into two simplex cables (not possible with the heavy-duty variant HEAVY DUPLEX).
