The Z fc is - after the Z 50 - a renewed Nikon commitment to the APS-C format as a constant size alongside 35mm. If you like retro design and operation, the Z fc is a very good camera that achieves similar results to Fuji's X-E4 and X-T30. It is the first Nikon Z camera to be equipped with a monitor that folds out to the side.
