Becoming «Rocket League» pros – part 1
by Philipp Rüegg
The time has come: after two weeks of shedding blood, sweats and tears in intense training sessions, Simon, Luca and I are ready to take on the pros. At about 9:15 p.m., our match against Edelweiss Esports is kicking off.
Seriously, though, it would take a miracle for Simon, Luca and I not to suffer a colossal defeat today. Our opponents are five-time «TCS Rocket League» champion Edelweiss Esports. Sure, we made progress at our training session last week with coaches Nukes and Zaphare, but we still suffered a heavy defeat – even though we outnumbered them. So the chances of beating a full team of pros are rather slim.
But we’re not going to let this discourage us. We’ll fight with desperate courage. We have nothing to lose. Well, definitely no reputation in the «Rocket League» scene. Play the «Rocky theme», as
our livestream begins at about 9:15 p.m. on Twitch and YouTube. You can also find our past episodes there. Please not that we might run slightly late. For once, not because of our technical inability, but because Edelweiss Esports has a league game before our battle.
More «Rocket League» will follow on 5 June 2021 when the fourth edition of our digitec Playground event takes place.
As a child, I wasn't allowed to have any consoles. It was only with the arrival of the family's 486 PC that the magical world of gaming opened up to me. Today, I'm overcompensating accordingly. Only a lack of time and money prevents me from trying out every game there is and decorating my shelf with rare retro consoles.
