It’s never been this easy: reselling on Digitec and Galaxus
by Stephan Kurmann
Digitec orders are now visible on Galaxus – a boon to user-friendliness, as customers can now also process all their orders in one place. This change doesn’t apply to Digitec.
Many customers order products on both Galaxus and Digitec – each with a separate order history. This can quickly become unnecessarily complicated. Since all Digitec products are also available on Galaxus, shoppers often can’t keep track of where they ordered what. For this reason, we’ve simplified things.
Galaxus customers can now enjoy a new feature. As of March, we’ve merged the order overview of Digitec and Galaxus. In other words, customers can also find all the purchases they’ve made on Digitec in their order history on Galaxus. This makes finding orders quick and easy using the search function on the order overview page.
«By merging their order history, we want to give Galaxus customers a better overview of their orders. This means that products such as smartphones, USB cables and TVs can be easily viewed and processed on Galaxus without a hitch, even though they were purchased on Digitec,» says Lukas Jörg, the Senior Product Owner responsible for the technical implementation of this project. «Often, our customers aren’t aware that they can buy the entire Digitec range on Galaxus and therefore place separate orders. With the merge, we hope to bring this to mind.»
«What sounds very simple in fact took quite a bit of testing and tweaking to get all the links and actions working smoothly,» Lukas Jörg continues. «Now our customers can, for instance, register their returns, cancel any items ordered, extend their warranty and process their orders on Galaxus,» he says.
On the other hand, Digitec remains unchanged. The customer account still displays orders placed on Digitec only. «This was a very conscious decision. We’ve clearly defined it as an IT, gaming and tech platform – and we want to keep it that way,» explains Ursina Grimm, Head of Brand Management. «Maybe this change will awaken the odd Digitec customer’s curiosity to browse Galaxus – for whatever category of product.»
Happy nature and big fan of the mountains.
