We’re reducing the prices of our Galaxus Travel eSIMs
A few months back, we launched the Galaxus Travel eSIM – and it’s been even more popular than we expected. As a result, we’re now able to drop our prices.
It’s been three months since we launched our Galaxus Travel eSIM. During that time, several thousand Galaxus Mobile customers have used it to enjoy internet access abroad at competitive prices. Those three short months have been quite the experience for us – a mostly positive one, in fact. So, just in time for the autumn holidays, we’d like to share the most exciting development to come out of that experience: we’re lowering roaming prices for more than a third of the countries and regions we cover.
Where we’re cutting roaming prices
To be exact, we’re reducing the price of 227 Travel eSIM packages across 75 countries. Here are some examples: (prices accurate as of 24 September 2026)
- Germany: 20 GB for 13 francs instead of 17.30 (25% cheaper)
- Classic autumn holiday destinations, including France, Greece, Italy, Croatia, the Netherlands and Spain: 20 GB for 13 francs instead of 15.60 (17% cheaper)
- Albania: 20 GB for 21.50 francs instead of 26.50 (19% cheaper)
- Indonesia: 20 GB for 27.10 francs instead of 36.10 (25% cheaper)
- Mauritius: 10 GB for 21.30 francs instead of 28.30 (25% cheaper)
- Egypt: 5 GB for 11 francs instead of 14.40 (24% cheaper)

Why are we dropping our prices?
From a technical standpoint, the Galaxus Travel eSIM has proved to be reliable. So far, most of our customers have managed to install and use it without any problems. As a result, our customer service department has had to deal with far fewer queries than we initially expected. This means we’ll be able to handle a larger volume of queries in the future. «These savings can be passed straight on to our customers,» says Leo Schittenhelm, the product manager responsible for the Galaxus Travel eSIM.
In addition, the eSIM market – and the needs of our eSIM customers – are constantly evolving. The largest data packages (20 GB) account for over 30 per cent of Galaxus’s Travel eSIM sales. «Based on what we’ve observed over the last three months, we’re making price cuts in the areas that’ll benefit customers most. Specifically, on the largest data packages,» says Leo.
We still don’t offer unlimited data packages for international use, although some customers would like us to. «In this industry, it’s rare for ‘unlimited’ to truly mean unlimited,» Leo explains. «Once you reach a certain data volume, providers will often reduce speeds. Plus, we’ve found that for the vast majority of customers, 20 GB is more than enough to get them through their holiday.»
The Galaxus Travel eSIM at a glance
- If you’re a Galaxus Mobile customer, you can select the data package that’s right for you online in your Cockpit. You’ll then be able to instantly install your eSIM on your smartphone. Just a few minutes later, you’ll be able to access the internet from abroad at competitive prices.
- The service currently covers approximately 200 countries and regions. You can choose between data packages ranging from 1 GB to 20 GB, with validity periods spanning from one week and one month.
- If you don’t activate your eSIM within 60 days, we’ll automatically cancel the package and credit the amount to your next monthly bill.
- Your Swiss phone number will remain active for making calls and using messaging apps like WhatsApp. The Travel eSIM is for data.
- Network access is provided using the best available cellular standard in your destination country (including 5G).
- Everything runs through Galaxus. We’re the contracting party, and handle both sales and customer service.
Just a heads-up: older smartphones might not be eSIM-compatible. Check your device settings before choosing an eSIM to make sure the function is supported. We’ll continue to offer conventional data roaming packages alongside this new offering.
