Can this camera be recommended for wildlife observation? The idea is to use the camera instead of a spotting scope. Is the image stabiliser worth anything at full zoom?

Helpful answer

Hello Hindi1, yes, I can definitely recommend the camera for this purpose. It has a very wide zoom range and good image quality (Zeiss, made in Japan). The image stabiliser also works at the upper zoom range. Of course, the camera has to be held securely in the hand: It's like hunting, take a deep breath and only press down gently when you exhale. With a little practice, however, this can be mastered well. Good vision is also a prerequisite, otherwise the pictures will naturally appear blurred. Good luck!

With a large zoom factor, I usually use the self-timer with 3 seconds. Then you don't move the camera when releasing the shutter and can take sharp photos. Of course, this only works with still objects.

Thank you very much for your answer. Primarily, the camera would not be intended for photography (I have a full-frame for that), but rather as a "binocular". I think I will buy such a camera and see if it meets my requirements. Thanks again and best regards.
