Question about Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-RX100 VA

It is exasperating, but the SONY RX 100 KK VA, which I bought here in October 2018, absolutely does not allow any connection to playmemoriescameraapps from SONY. So I can't buy and download special programs for the camera, like Timelapse (time lapse). I even went to the SONY dealer about it and he didn't get anywhere either. The message "Check connection" always appeared, although the USB cable is intact and the camera is recognised as a drive in Explorer. Now I've had enough and am sending the camera back to Digitec.

Playmemories Apps cannot be installed on the RX100 V A. With the release of the RX100 VI, Sony has removed the possibility to install these apps. The RX100 V A is basically the same hardware as the RX100 VI, but with the smaller zoom lens of the RX100 V. So you can't install these apps on the RX100 V A either. I have the RX10 III with the apps on it and would also like to have them on my RX100 V A, but unfortunately that's not possible. Greetings Fredy

Sony even shut down that server where the Playmemories were on it..... Or was it Kim Jon Un?

Although I own an RX100 VA myself, I have not yet dealt with "playmemories" (because I was not very convinced by this rather meagre and partly even chargeable offer with my earlier NEX6).
In the case described here, I could imagine that an installed virus protection programme blocks access to the SONY server.
I assume that you have registered with Playmemories (or as it is called today). Good luck Paul
