I can't find an answer regarding focal lengths. When I use a 16-50mm lens, it also shows focal lengths of 16-50mm. If I were to buy a new lens, do I have to convert the focal length from full-frame to APS-C or does the focal length correspond to what is shown on the display? Example: https://www.digitec.ch/de/s1/product/sigma-30mm-f14-dc-dn-c-sony-e-objektiv-5815726. Is the image detail on APS-C exactly the same as when I set 30mm on the camera?

Helpful answer

Yes, if you set the 16-50mm to 30mm on the a6000, it's the same angle of view as the 30mm Sigma. You don't have to convert anything. The crop factor is relevant when you want to compare with full format.

The 16-50 is equivalent to a 24-75mm lens on full frame.
