Can the photos from the camera be transferred to Google Photo? With GPS info?

Yes, this is possible.

But I have to add the GPS data to some of the photos because the position is not immediately available after switching on.

Unfortunately, I don't know this because I store all my photos in external storage where they are available without any problems.
