TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik has created the M80 as a superior alternative to the mid-heavy character of the industry-standard microphone.
Thanks to the low mass of the capsule and the super-thin yet remarkably durable capsule membrane, the M80 allows for excellent sound transmission of vocal performances, typically only associated with studio condenser microphones.
The microphone head and capsule design have been engineered to reduce the proximity effect, which can unnaturally boost the low frequencies of a voice. Nevertheless, the microphone sounds very solid and well-defined in the bass while remaining open and airy, without generating unwanted feedback in the upper midrange.

9. Telefunken M82
The M82 is a robust end-address microphone featuring a large dynamic diaphragm with excellent low-frequency characteristics. Although it was designed to capture rich and powerful kick drum sounds, the two integrated EQ switches make the M82 equally suitable for a variety of sources, including vocals, percussion, guitar and bass amplifiers, organ, and brass instruments. Both the KICK EQ and HIGH BOOST switches operate independently, allowing the user to easily adjust the microphone's response to the source. The M82 is hand-assembled and tested in our American facility.
The M82 is included in all drum packs and is also available in the M82 Podcast package, which includes a high-quality microphone arm and a shock mount.

10. Telefunken M81-SH
The M81-SH was designed not just as a complement to the M80-SH, but rather as an independent microphone that outstandingly combines the capabilities of dynamic microphones.
Like the M80, the M81-SH impresses with low proximity effect, high feedback resistance, and a clear midrange. However, compared to the M80, the high frequencies are slightly reduced, resulting in an overall flatter frequency response. The result is a microphone with body, substance, and clarity, which is well-suited for taming sharper voices or guitars, or for providing a fuller sound to toms, percussion, horns, or thin-sounding sources.
The M81-SH comes with a chrome microphone grille. It includes a leather case and a 5m XLR cable with a right-angle connector.
