With the Zebra ZD421, you acquire a fast and user-friendly thermal transfer printer. Its movable media sensor allows for the use of a wide variety of media types, including media with offset registration marks, die-cut cutouts, or horizontally arranged labels. Through a cloud-based solution, you can centrally monitor and manage all your ZD421 printers. This printer uses the thermal transfer method, where the color is melted from a separate ribbon onto the label paper and permanently bonds to the medium through heat. This results in durable, resilient printed products. The use of additional consumables makes handling slightly more complex compared to direct thermal printers, and it generates more waste. However, you have greater freedom in designing your labels by using different ribbons. This printing method is recommended for applications where durability is more important than cost—such as long-term labeling like product or food labels, as well as device and quality control markings.
