- Excellent image and video quality
- Compact and high quality workmanship
- Powerful continuous shooting and slow motion function
- Improved autofocus tracking
- No shoulder display
- Very high price

- The "squaring of the circle" mentioned at the beginning of the article, which describes contradictory aspects such as high resolution and high (continuous shooting) speed, actually finds its resolution in the Sony Alpha 1 Mark II. The new AI autofocus system is outstanding.
- Although the camera is very handy without the battery grip, this optional accessory is almost essential for large hands. The list price of just under €7,500 is a hefty price tag, but corresponds to that of Canon's top model, the EOS R1.
The Sony Alpha 1 Mark Il is not a camera revolution like the Sony Alpha 9 Mark III with its global shutter was. However, it represents a successful further development, the innovations of which are definitely noticeable. There is little change in the achievable image quality, which remains at a very high level...

Sony's new flagship comes in ahead of the EOS R5 Mark Il in our list of the best, but is also the most expensive at 7500 euros. Image quality, speed and features are excellent. Depending on individual preferences, the lack of a status display, the integrated raw converter or multiple exposures could be annoying - but that would be complaining at an extremely high level.

- High-quality workmanship, robust, ergonomic housing
- Excellent electronic viewfinder
- Phenomenal performance (autofocus, continuous shooting, etc.)
- Extensive equipment including 4K and 8K video function
- Very good image quality
- Viewfinder not completely clear with glasses (crop function helps)

- Outstanding attention to detail
- 8K video
- Fast AI autofocus
- powerful electronic viewfinder
- Compact case
- High price
Our list of the best has a new frontrunner: the Alpha 1 Il from Sony. Although the Japanese company has not revolutionised its flagship camera, it has spiced it up in key areas compared to the Alpha 1. Image quality, equipment, speed and video features: The Alpha 1 Il shows no weaknesses in any area, making it the ideal tool for professional photographers and videographers.
