Product details
The KSM8 Dualdyne vocal microphone is the first dynamic microphone equipped with two diaphragms, allowing for neutral and highly precise vocal reproduction, accurate sound, and maximum control over the proximity effect. The patented Dualdyne technology exhibits only marginal proximity effects and off-axis coloration.
The KSM8 Dualdyne vocal microphone sets a milestone in dynamic microphone technology for artists and engineers. It features only minimal proximity effects and enables unparalleled vocal reproduction as well as accurate sound. It has been designed for large and complex sound reinforcement applications. Thanks to its immense clarity, the KSM8 is ideal for studios, live performances, or broadcasting.
Due to the second, passive diaphragm, the KSM8 offers a very large sweet spot and minimal proximity effects. Together with neutral mids and highs, it creates a consistent, natural vocal reproduction, regardless of the artist's microphone technique.
The Unidyne III capsule (e.g., SM57/SM58) has only one diaphragm with a pneumatic shock absorber. The advantages of Dualdyne technology are rooted in the second, additional diaphragm. The Dualdyne capsule construction consists of two extremely thin diaphragms – one active and one passive – as well as an inverted airflow system.
