Am thrilled, everything made true what was promised with the Sony a7r II -.

Since two days I am now in possession of the a7rIII (Unfortunately not bought at Digitec, because the 5-year warranty was available elsewhere.). Extremely positive for me: My Canon lenses work great, namely the AF speed, and especially the eye focus with tracking - 16-35mm F2.8 / 24-70mm F2.8 / 70-200mm F2.8 and especially the 85mm F1.2. The peak: The focus speed and accuracy with the 85mm F1.2 are better with the a7rIII than with my aged Canon 5D Mark III. Hard to believe. I also tried Pixelshift, but it didn't get me out of the saddle. Very sensitive, there must not be even a little breeze blowing, or clouds moving and the camera must be on a stable tripod and triggered by remote control, or with time delay.

    Pro

    • Very good image quality (in my opinion even better than my a7r II)
    • Responsive - focus, turn on, view images - scroll,
    • Bright, high resolution viewfinder - I always forget that I'm not looking through an optical one :-)
    • Manual focus through magnifier (even AF is possible under magnifier)
    • 10 frames per second with focus tracking
    • Ergonomics, handling really ok
    • Menus have become much better
    • Focus point adjustment by joystick (like Canon 5D), or by "touch" on the screen
    • Impossible to list everything, ah - two SD card slots
    • When it's too dark to see anything with Canon, I can still focus through the viewfinder of the a7

    Contra

    • Very high price
    • Support in Switzerland
    • Could be better protected against dust and splash water, especially the lids

Absolutely top class, you can't go wrong with this camera.

Convincing in every respect. The surcharge compared to the A7rII is worth it in view of the numerous improvements.

    Pro

    • World class image quality
    • Enormous number of features
    • Finally decent battery capacity and a touchscreen
    • Integrated 5-axis image stabiliser
    • High-quality workmanship
    • Very good EVF
    • Fast autofocus, high burst rate, large buffer
    • Pixel-Shift High-Res mode (ingenious for static scenes)

    Contra

    • ergonomics are generally good, but the handle could be a little more comfortable
    • expensive

    Handy and top pictures

Come from A7III and wanted more resolution, I got :-)
For me it makes the difference. You can crop, has sharpness without end and pixels to work with. My 5 year old PC can easily handle the RAW files in Lightroom. I am not
afraid of high ISOs. It's certainly never the camera's fault if a photo goes wrong.

    Pro

    • 42mp!
    • Almost completely adjustable to the user
    • Battery life
    • EVF resolution and display brightness

    Contra

    • Screen only fold out no swivel
    • Good fullframe lenses are expensive, but on 42mp also useful
    • Heavier than APSC (especially the lenses) ... it is no longer so knippserfun
