Wahoo Elemnt Roam
No, the Wahoo Elemnt devices do not support profiles as known from Garmin! But from my point of view this is not a problem. I use several MTB bikes with different sensors myself. Simply synchronise the Wahoo with e.g. Strava and then you have all the data/workouts nicely divided according to bike/profile... You can also see the data analysis on the device itself. But it doesn't really make sense because the corresponding Wahoo app is mandatory for configuration and evaluation. I am super happy with the Wahoo Elemnt Roam and don't want a Garmin anymore.
Hello Uwe, yes you can. You have to change the display to the map. Then you simply reduce the map size accordingly so that you can see your previous route. Greetings, Ömer
Hello janik You can load any map onto it. However, you only have limited bites. I only load these maps from the country I am travelling to and delete the ones I no longer need. This way you always have enough space for the latest maps. I can only recommend the device.
I have it on a gravel bike and it holds perfectly.
It would certainly work. In the worst case, without maps. According to the WAHOO page, maps for Africa are included.
Yup. I do it all the time.
The Wahoo Elemnt is an independent GPS device. When it is switched on, it continuously determines its position (and the corresponding time) using GPS (among other things) satellite signals and records these measurements continuously. To do this, it must have a "view" of enough satellites; in tunnels, buildings, but also in dense forests or sometimes even in buildings, this is not always the case due to the system. The display can be configured in many ways to show what can be derived from these (recorded) measurements. For example, the presumed speed with which the device is moved (position change per time). By actively starting and stopping a recording segment, the distance covered is displayed, and this is probably what you mean by KM performance. Wahoo offers several additional sensors that can be included in the measurements. One of these is a speed sensor that measures the revolutions of the wheel. This "real" speed measurement is taken into account in the device for refinement and always improves the accuracy when the signal from the satellites is insufficient. Without this sensor, the device may show a more fluctuating speed, but otherwise works just as well. This independence from other sensors can be seen as a particular strength of this type of bike computer, because it can be used immediately on any bike. It seems particularly valuable to me that a simple map display with the current position is also available. The road and path network for this map display can rsp. must be downloaded free of charge from the Wahoo server via Bluetooth-connected smartphone (Wahoo ELEMNT app available for iOS and Android).
Yes - the communication does take place, it has to because of the possible presence of a power meter on the bike. However, Wahoo states that the MAC address is changed dynamically in order not to create a profile. Original comment on this: "ELEMNT/BOLT/ROAM use dynamic, randomized MAC addresses for privacy and security purposes, making them incompatible with networks utilizing MAC address filters or whitelists."
We don't sell this product at all anymore, I'm sorry.
This is an offer from KELLER Group GmbH. Unfortunately, we have no influence on the pricing in this case.
The product is unfortunately sold out and can therefore no longer be offered by us.
Hello Cobeb, there is no such thing! The product is correctly called "Wahoo Elemnt Roam". There is an app called Wahoo Fitness... If you mean the bike computer, it is called Wahoo Elemnt Roam.
No, no sensors included. However, the Wahoo bike computers shine with a very, very high compatibility with "almost" everything that is available. Bluetooth or Ant+ as communication and it works. I have already been able to connect various other manufacturer sensors immediately.
No, the Wahoo Elemnt Roam does not have an SD card slot! The maps are predefined by the manufacturer and can simply be activated after use, i.e. loaded onto the device. For example, I now only ride with the CH map (Switzerland). Maps are therefore also renewed directly by the manufacturer and can be updated at any time without a subscription. I also use a Garmin Edge 1000 (in parallel). So I can compare very well. I see the biggest advantage of the Wahoo Roam simply in the handling of tours (planned via Komoot). Everything is synchronised in both directions at the touch of a button. The Wahoo Roam display is easy to read. Routing functions are top!
Speed is calculated via GPS, no cadence or HR
