Hello Bebbi. When the radio is switched on, three brightness levels can be set. High, medium and low. When you switch it off (standby), you can set it to medium, low or off. With Off, the display is not completely dark. The time is then displayed very dimly. (But that doesn't bother you at all when you're sleeping, for example) It's really very dim. Actually, Bluetooth should work without any problems - the instruction manual is clear in that respect and in my experience the instruction manual is flawless.
Only: I don't need any other speakers, so I haven't tried it myself.
Therefore: 99.9% of the time it works without a problem - it's worth trying it out, because the device is fantastic.
