Is the display completely dark when set to off or can the display be turned off completely so that it does not light up at night ?

Hello Bebbi. When the radio is switched on, three brightness levels can be set. High, medium and low. When you switch it off (standby), you can set it to medium, low or off. With Off, the display is not completely dark. The time is then displayed very dimly. (But that doesn't bother you at all when you're sleeping, for example) It's really very dim.
