Works already... is also compatible for full format. But you can just use a D3300... ^^ The quality of the camera will go down the drain with such a cheap lens.... Never use a Pro camera with a cheap lens... rather use a cheaper camera with a pro lens.

This lens has a built-in motor and also works on a d5300. I used it myself for a while. But it is a super-zoom lens, which are always worse than the fixed focal lengths. If you are looking for a macro lens, you are much better off with a fixed focal length. (e.g. Tamron 90mm) But otherwise a great value lens! For 125.- you can't say much bad about this item...
