I think you can store savegames and ps4 games on a regular HDD, however, if you want to install ps5 games, you need an m.2 NVME and the slot inside the console is not activated yet. These informations are to be confirmed, but it's due to the new SSD technology they're using.
I don't think there's anything you can do. The hard disk comes with a simple backup software that does not encrypt anything. So it's useless. The hard drive is otherwise very good and inexpensive.
Actually, yes, usb is downward compatible, but it makes little sense because the transfer speed is much slower than usb 2.0.
I can recommend the Seagate HD, it has SATA III fast interface with USB 3. It should be sufficient for your requirements. However, for video editing, if you are using a professional pgm, I would edit on the internal drive first. The SSD Standard HD are also equipped with SATA III interface. If you are looking for a luxury solution, I would prefer an internal Samsung SDD with M2 interface. However, your PC/NB must have a corresponding M2 slot. Somehow the worm is in the 5T disks - SG & Toshiba. Often not recognised (different PCs) After "repair" OK until the next time. WD ? I use 2 WD My Book 12T as a film archive and they work perfectly.
Yes sometimes they are extremely slow. Much better Lacie!
Unfortunately I can't answer that as I don't have any game consoles. I think it can be used with the right formatting. Otherwise, google for a compatible disk.
Yes, it is compatible with Apple.
Die Playstation 4 unterstützt externe Festplatten. Anbei schicke ich dir einen Link mit genaueren Infos. https://blog.seagate.com/consumers/how-to-add-an-external-hard-drive-to-playstation-bump-up-your-gaming/
I bought the hard drive for exactly this purpose. Therefore, yes, it works.
Ja, es funktioniert gut. Sie erscheint auch auf der offiziellen Website von Seagate. https://www.seagate.com/de/de/support/kb/will-my-seagate-drive-work-with-macos-1015-catalina/
You are free to do as you wish. However, I do not necessarily recommend it. Otherwise, make sure that the whole thing is supported/secured and in any case cannot slip.
They are ready to use and can be used with both Windows and Mac (reformatting may be required for use with Time Machine).
I don't understand this question - I bought this as an enclosure with a hard drive. It has no (visible) screws at all. You would have to destroy the enclosure... Isn't it better to buy a 2.5 hard drive without an enclosure, like Seagate BarraCuda (5TB, 2.5") ?
