I think you can store savegames and ps4 games on a regular HDD, however, if you want to install ps5 games, you need an m.2 NVME and the slot inside the console is not activated yet. These informations are to be confirmed, but it's due to the new SSD technology they're using.

Hi I think so, which is why it plugs into the USB 3.0 port at the back. it works for me. It will remain in operation until Sony removes the internal M2 expansion slot with the next system update!!! ;)
