Hello In a direct comparison, the 960 performs better in read and write rates, as well as IOPS: https://www.digitec.ch/de/Comparison/5630722-5928155 The price is an introductory price for the 960
Greetings. M.2 2280 (22mm X 80mm) This SSM (Solid State Module) fits for both. But 97 motherboard has only Pci-E 2.0 support for the M.2 socket, but with Pci-E card they could lead to maiximum speed. Mfg: Pc_Repair. Pci-E plug-in card with heat sink:

The read and write speeds in the product description are the theoretically achievable maximum values. That is why the actual values are somewhat lower. Benchmarks: http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/SpeedTest/182182/Samsung-SSD-960-PRO-512GB
No, unfortunately the mainboard does not have an M.2 slot.
The screws are always included with the mainboard. This is also stated in the instructions under package contents: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/mb/LGA1151/MAXIMUS_VIII_HERO/G10343_MAXIMUS_VIII_HERO_UM_WEB.pdf?_ga=2.55343787.141044541.1500468941-799571339.1497198360 I recommend that you complain to the customer service department where you bought the mainboard or directly to ASUS. They can also tell you what size screws are actually needed.
difficult to say. does the workstation's mainboard have an M.2 slot at all? if so, it depends on the board and the PCIE devices already connected whether booting/using is possible.
No, it is not compatible. XM11 seems to be a proprietary SATA interface from ASUS, ADATA and SANDISK. I have never seen an XM11 device on the market. ADATA XM11 256GB can be found on ebay for $155 in Hong Kong... see here: http://k6.re/DH5aH
heat doesn't hurt ssds. just don't let them glow. but i never have problems with samsung pro m.2 and games on it.
Yeah Sure ^^ any mobo with M2 2280 port ^^ ;-))))

In the merchant programme, selected independent third-party providers can offer products and services in their own name and sell them directly to customers via Digitec Galaxus' online shops. Unfortunately, I can't tell you why. It's best to contact the retailer directly for pricing questions and more information about their offerings.
