what additional adapter do I need if I want to install the 960 SSD pro in my Macbook Pro 15" Mid 2014?

I'm not familiar with Macs, but they don't have m.2 ports, but "only" Sata3... so an NVMe SSD is a complete waste of money, since your Macbook can't use this performance anyway.
I would recommend an 850 evo or pro, it's cheaper and will bring you the same amount.

The Samsung 960 pro is an SSD with NVMe interface. Consequently, any interface card must be NVMe-compatible. Does not run with SATA interface card. Please also check with Apple whether it is compatible with MacBook Air.
