This is no longer the case with the new ones, even though they come "boxed".
A standard cooler would be too weak. TDP 125 is far understated, there is now the new designation MTP, see here:

You can, but then you have to deal with overclocking the RAM. Basically, the CPU always uses the predefined frequency. I also have RAM with a higher frequency. Here is a link from Intel on how to overclock. https://www.intel.de/content/www/de/de/gaming/resources/overclock-ram.html As a note: If you do this, the manufacturer no longer takes the warranty, even if this CPU basically allows it.

depends on what you want to do with it... and how well you want it cooled... but the cheapest models are from 200 to 1900fr. and since you want a 12900 i recommend the 12900K and the asus rog maximus z690 hero board... it's the cheapest one you can overclock with which makes sense if you already take the 12900...

Hello Sebastian, we have had the item on sale since the beginning of November, hence the already acquired ratings :-)
Well, I have them, but not yet in use, due to the lack of ddr 5200 rams. Because of 1* I think a convinced amd user wanted to make mood.
